Finally installed my Solix 10 after a long time of trying to figure out where to mount it. I've looked at what other people did but couldn't seem to make them work for this screen. Hope this works well on the water.

Nicely done!

Is that a suction mount?

Also, with sophisticated Navionics equipment like your Sonar (and also considering Radar), how does one manage the power requirements with only magneto charging of batteries. Will the magneto keep up with demand?

Not really. Most people will install an onboard charger to top off the batteries when not in use. The magneto will help throughout the day but not really keep up with the draw. The mount is screwed in, the weight of this unit would not be supported with a suction cup.

Thank you, that is what I thought.

So, two house batteries and one for starting? (or 3 for the house?) How much demand do the Navionics place upon your existing system (whole day, half a day) before shore recharge?

Looks good. The 10" is showing 2.5amp draw at 12vdc. Not much at all.

sorry I never replied here. Just an update after a couple years with this I have no issues running the Solix and stereo all day on one Excide deep cycle battery while fishing. Stereo is 6 speakers with Wetsound amp. This year will be a test as I'm adding a marine radio and the trim tabs.
