I keep boat on lift up a creek. I can put boat up about 7' above water level. Thoughts about leaving on lift and securing to pilings so don't get swing with wind?

I'm in the same boat. I would normally raise thè boat up to shorten the cables and reduce the swing but whereas our season is done I will haul it. Don't want to be up the creek without a paddle.

Raise it up as high as possible. Use rope or preferably ratchet straps to tie it so that it can swing.

Some guys strap them to the lift as well.

Good luck and stay safe.

I would think with wind and water you should be fine high up. I would just be worried about those close trees coming down on it. You have a few large ones close by the lift

@Murf'n'surf , you have anything coming your/our way with this latest one? I wont be down till 2nd week of Novenber

This storm is actually going to give us an absolutely beautiful weekend with no rain! We will get some 20-30 mph winds Thursday/Friday with a little rain but really nothing to worry about. The east coast of Florida is another story as they will see higher winds, waves and panic.

Saw this today. It's a neighbor of a friend of mine. Apparently he didn't lift the boat high enough AND left it stern out instead of bow out.

As you can see, not a wise move.
