Now building on that statement both my wife and I have worked hard for some time and not spending money on frivolous things but at some point you need to build on memories so that when you are sitting in the rocking chair you can say “honey, remember when...”. Been looking at boats and even had check in hand some 4 years ago and changed our minds on that purchase with the truck running in the driveway ready to go pick it up. Finally through hard work and patience we got the lake lot where the rv is parked with ample room for the Yamaha AR210 parked next to it. Just picked it up and parked it before blizzards and a 3 week cold snap of -30° C hit us. Went with the twin jets because close proximity lakes are fairly shallow and for the last minute boat cruise was ideal. Will be planning some trips to bigger lakes for weekend get-aways. Got some ideas already for the boat I gleened from the furum...can’t wait for spring.

Sadly can’t supply any photos except this one for now from our weather station.9791381B-E1B7-4522-B515-5E9C408B2255.jpeg

Congrats! Spring can't come soon enough.

@Need4Speed i think you used similar decision making as many of us.

I doubt my kids would have said to themselves; “Remember when we were kids and Dad dumped every extra cent into his 401k? Yeah, those sure were some great times...”

:)

Had a chance to go out to the lake lot once the weather settled to do some chores around the place and got a quick pic of the Yamaha...looks sad in the snow.7D565789-A544-4186-94EC-C758A351E274.jpeg

It looks like you’re putting those snap in covers to the test!

That poor boat.

I can't upvote this enough. A clean balance sheet is over rated. Sure it's costing me some money to borrow instead of pay cash, but the boys will only be boys for so long. I'm not going to miss these years because I'm too concerned about my balance sheet and not concerned enough about living.

Only have one shot at this, better do the best I can to get it right the first time!

This is worth 1,000 401k accounts!
