I have to say the reliability of $40 JVC/Kenwood Marine audio components has fallen through the floor. So the times they are a changin... I looked at what I need and features and I'm liking the Wet Sounds WS-MC-5 and Wet Sounds MC-TR-MINI wired remote... The ability to turn off the internal amp is perfect and the dual channel approach seems to address the most common sound issue I have which is taming the subs... the sound mix varies dramatically from source and genre.
I had three zone control however it had to be done from the head unit, now everything is available from the remote as well.... much cleaner Aux input for my XM Radio from the Garmin.
The mounting format will require a little ABS and MEK surgery... and while the glove box is open I'll move the voltmeter down next to the receiver (to make room for a future project to add a Flowscan fuel flow and totalizer gauge on the port console) and add a couple of USB charging ports...
