Is there an online list of state specific safety requirements to satisfy the authorities?

I was notified this weekend that people were getting inspected and ticketed on Sat of Memorial weekend at my local lake. I suspect this was a one time thing due to the holiday, as we are extremely rural and rarely see any activity of the sort.

But, got me thinking that I'm probably not up to code and would be better off to rectify the situation.

I've looked around some, but really haven't come across what I'm looking for. I got a booklet for MO at the St Louis boat show this year. But those guys couldn't help me in IL.

In MO, enforcement is provided by the highway patrol, and they need probable cause to pull you over. In IL it's the department of natural resources and no excuse needed to pull you over. (At least that's what the officer at the show told me)

Thanks!

Forgot I needed to get an orange flag for Shelbyville!

Thanks, that doesn't look so bad. However, I don't think I have a battery cover. That was one thing I heard they were picking on.
