Boat is a 2018 Yamaha 242xe non California model. I tried searching but couldn't find info for my specific model and im not sure what is compatible and what isn't with other models. Port engine ran fine last year, with how busy ive been today is the first day this year we tried to use the boat. Thankfully started it on the trailer at home before venturing out.

It seems like I need a new impeller housing. The current one looks swollen. Engine wouldn't turn over and thought it was something stuck in my impeller. Got it out and it was clean. But it was so seized in there it took using my truck with a tow strap to yank it out. Engine runs fine without any impeller.

Only thing I can see is the metal ring looks swollen. I do boat in brackish/salt water. My sea-doo PWCs use a wear ring but it's plastic so im not sure if this is a wear ring also or what. Using Yamaha parts I think it's the impeller housing.

Attaching a pic, also found a wasp nest in there so that was fun. That metal ring is swelling it looks like and not letting the impeller spin freely. Is that what I would need to replace to get the boat working again? Also how do I remove the impeller housing from the boat? The bolts are so stuck in there im worried about snapping the heads. They don't budge with my impact or drill. Thanks all

Dont use an impact. Use a breaker bar with as small as an extension you can to break free. Soak with penetrant overnight.

OK.

what's the correct part number for the impeller housing? Im seeing multiple and some say they aren't available.

here's a better shot. IM presuming the black marks are impeller impacts?
