Ingested our First Tow Rope!

Someone posted a picture on facebook of a sucked up rope and a girl was between the rope and where it was attached. Her leg was lacerated badly. I never realized this could be one of the other problems with these ropes. Engines off

And special honors members have launched with their tie down straps still on! Lol

Sorry to hear this....take any photos?

No photos unfortunately. But we did answer the question of "Why is the rope drifting away from the boy so much?" We ended up running back on one motor and I pulled the rope at home. Took about 3 hours of unwinding Sunday morning. I think there were about 100 wraps. Not a fun job for the shoulders. Managed to save the rope though, and Sunday we were able to tow without incident.

Ahhhh... the memories! I'm actually a little envious of you at this time. I remember my first rope! Sucked up and wedged in the slit between the intake grate and the boat itself. Good times indeed!

My favorite time ever though was as @buckbuck mentioned above... Launching the boat without the clean out plugs installed! That moment of fear and dread as you are trying to motor out and the boat is just not acting/sounding/responding right! Having the wife sitting there looking at you as you contemplate how to tell her how much this is going to cost. Then to realize, I didn't put the plugs in, and the sudden relief that sets in!

Glad to hear it was without incident (outside of the shoulder workout) and you were able to get back out on the water and tow again! On to the next adventure!

Congratulations but have you launched without putting the clean out plugs in? Only then will your request for membership be seriously considered.

Does this one count if your salesman leaves them out on the demonstration ride after your purchase?!?! I was thinking "oh crap, now I have to wait for ANOTHER boat to be shipped here for me ?!?!"

Make sure if you limp back on 1 motor you clamp it so you don’t force water into the engine. Or don’t go above no wake speed.

Glad everyone is ok.

We went back in super slo-mo, so hopefully no worries about water. What's this "clamp it" you speak of?

You should be more than fine then. Just any universal clamp to pinch the rubber hose. We keep one on the boat in the event we are too far away from the launch to putter home. If we clamp it i can at least get the boat on plane.
