Interior Cleaning

I am sure this topic has been beat to death but what is the best process for cleaning the interior of a Yamaha boat. I have heard of vinyl cleaners and spray bottles. Is it safe to use a foam cannon and pressure washer on the inside with a concentrated deck cleaner? With fishing boats it’s easier because the seats come out and the deck is exposed but with Yamaha boats there isn’t a deck under the seats. Thanks for the input.

I use foam aplicator, then scrub lightly and hose off. Then i use Vinyl Sauce, Vinyl Conditioner, then 303 every 3-4 trips.

Getting the battery, switches, motor etc wet is all safe. A pressure washer can be used as long as you are not hitting it hard.

First test, put on a dirt buster nozzle (thats the one with light rotation) and spray your hand at 3ft. You should be able to do this with no harm to your skin. If you move your hand towards the nozzle, when it starts to sting, you know the distance that you will start peeling graphics, or causing undue wear to your cushions. So at 2-3ft, you are not going to hurt a thing.

The electronics are sealed, for the most part. And if you have third party amps, speakers or head unit, they should be fine as well if marine rated. If not, just avoid them with water/sprayer.

The foam cannon is no worse than the pressure washer, as it is much lower pressure. If you keep most of your cabinets closed, you will get no more water in them than a splash over the bow. That being said, if you do get them wet, they are designed to take it. Just open them up to dry out.

All water will drain out the floor drain and out the scupper valve. Be sure to try and do this on an incline towards the back for drainage. I many times will drive my truck in the garage while the boat is attached to get the right angle.

I pull my ski locker plugs too and open them up for a good cleaning. As the pressure washer with foam cannon or simple green will clean those dingy door seal areas and hoses in the engine compartment. Keeping in mind, those of us with a head compartment don't usually have a drain. What goes in has to be sponged out!

Well I don't spray under the seats and I have an AR210 and the battery is covered and in a recessed hole so it doesn't really get wet there. I am unsure if a wet battery is in issue.

I don't spray under the seats, but I will hose the floor down with the boat jacked up high and let all the sand and dirt run out the scupper. Then 303 clean the vinyl, windex the glass, put batteries on the tenders. Then open all the compartments, put in a large box fan on high, and an exhaust fan that uses a dryer hose to move out the moisture.

I use the same thing on my 2020 Yamaha vinyl seats that I used for cleaning my leather seats in my car for years; Meguiars Super DeGreaser, diluted 1:10 with water, along with an OXO brush. It smells nice, I can make tons of it so the cost is cheap, and most importantly it gets any kind of stain quickly out. PS, it works amazing on leather - I learned about this stuff from watching youtube videos of guys using it to clean leather seats in a Lambo.
