Does anyone have any experience with inversion tables? I am looking into getting a Teeter EP 970 LTD

There are many benefits of inversion but I am interested in more of your equipment experience/recommendation.

I bought one from Amazon for 90 bucks and it does what it should. Innova is the name stamped on the head pad. That, rowing machine 3 times a week, plus foam roller therapy is the trick for me.

@Murf'n'surf Or, just go De Niro:

I have one @Murf'n'surf. Not sure if you're looking for a recommendation on a table or the pros & cons of using one. If it's personal you can message me.

Ah, just caught the rest of your message. The one you are considering was too rich for my blood so I picked up a new one from ebay. Think I paid about $140 about 7 or 8 years ago. I had no history of back issues but did pull a muscle, went to a chiropractor, asked him about the wisdom of getting a table. He said it was a very good idea. He went on to say most chiropractor's had them until the lawsuits started rolling in. If you have any issues with detached retinas, annurisms or high blood pressure thay are not advised. He said many people have annurisms and don't know it until they burst.

On the bright side. I used mine only a few dozen times when I hurt my back and it seemed to help. I then started using it for inverted sit-ups.

I have a horrible back. 3 bulging discs one herniated, scoliosis degenerative disc disease ..yadda yadda...I tried one and it made my back worse.

Just my experience, I was hoping it would be my savior but there is no hope for my train wreck until they perfect the backiotomy.

It was nice and didn't cost that much, It was around 150.00. Got it at sears. The one you listed seems overpriced. Good luck.

i bought a teeter earlier this year.. Not the same model as I think I paid about half that... They are well built and feel solid...

I bought one and haven't been to the chiropractor in years. A friend of mine has terrible back pain. I sent him off to buy one and it has helped him tremendously.

I don't even need to be on it more than about 30 seconds and I'm good to go

Thanks for the tips guys. Seems like these are more popular than I thought.

I have finally received and built my Teeter. Wow! Immediate relief felt after the first 30 second inversion. I have gradually increased time over the last few days and still feeling positive results after each use.

Sounds like my back list.

A few people have told me how great these are but I'm hesitant because the thought of my back stretching makes me cringe.
If I grab a bar and hang from it and try to relax my back it's like a nerve is pinching...that's kind of how I imagine this would be on my back, let me know if you think I'm wrong.

$85 isn't a bad price to try it out I guess.

With my sole medical expertise coming from CLS training (combat lifesaver), I think you're wrong.

That should mean absolutely nothing to you however. I do know back in my workout days pullups were all the rage for strengthening/widening your back. I similate that with hanging, and just have to imagine that is also working muscles back there, as opposed to relaxing them.

I have always been in good shape. I do however have a sciatica that acts up. After trying lots of things I have found that staying in good shape (strong core) along with the roller, inversion table, herman miller office chair, and tempurpedic bed all work together to keep me nearly pain free. After working out I flip over on a the inversion table and almostly instantly I hear and feel a skeletal pop then I hang there for about a minute. After that I am good for the rest of the day in my herman miller office chair. The foam roller keeps me limber and my muscles less tight. I fall asleep easily and often wake up in the exact spot I fell asleep in.

Getting to the point even with all that my back does not feel right until I get that pop. I equate it to cracking your knuckles when your fingers are really stiff.

You should probably get a MD or chiropractor to give you the ok to use an inversion table if you've got back issues, prior surgery etc.

After years of discomfort and many chiropractic visits (which help tremendously) I started to notice how my brain told me to relieve the discomfort. I was putting my hands behind my lower back, making a fist and pulling them forward while running my fist upwards and arching my back. In essence, I was trying to do what the inversion table does easily.

I do that as well with my fists on my back, I lay on the floor with my fist under my back, the stretch where you cross your knee over and touch the floor with it while keeping your shoulder on the floor feels good as well.
I used to go to a Chiropractor fairly often and it seemed to be the only thing that helped.
The whole time I was in the military I was always told "it's just normal back pain, here's some Motrin". When I retired I saw a doctor that said it was obvious that I had slight scoliosis and dengenerative something something, and a couple bulging discs that aren't hitting a nerve.

I stay in pretty decent shape and it hasn't been bothering me nearly as much lately as it used to for some reason, but I'm always up for making it feel better... I've always thought the tables were much more expensive so I never have looked at buying one before.

I went with the Teeter mainly because of the adjustable lumber arch and acupressure nodes, both make a world of difference while inverting.

Just when I thought I couldn't spend anymore money because of this site, suddenly I find myself pricing out used inversion tables on craigalist. Two discoveries, first pricing is all over the map from $40 to $800, two there are a lot of used ones for sale, unlike used late model jet boats.
