So I have two options for storing my boat during the upcoming hurricane. We are not expecting a direct hit, so it should weaken some by the time it gets to us.
A) My current storage facility is covered, but it is a stick built shed structure (see picture below). It faces north, so if the hurricane does what it is supposed to do the wind would be blowing in to the opening of the structure. Forecasts are showing 50-70mph+ winds in that area. Concern here is that the shed collapses on the boat. But I guess its entirely possible that it just rips the top off and leaves the boat sitting on a concrete pad.
B) A friend of mine has 5 acres of land that I can put the boat on. There are some trees on and around the property, so flying debris could be an issue. Would sit in the open uncovered.
Any advice on which option would be better would be awesome. This is the first time I've had to worry about a boat in a storm.
