Island on Texoma, anyone, anyone?

Crazy. Wonder what they do when it floods?

I saw the article that was posted on Facebook as well as the local news piece and I'm not real crazy about the idea. We never go to North island anyway since it's always had the reputation as the "adult" island and with young kids always with us it's a no go. The part that bothers me is that they want to ferry people out there. I like the idea of them having maybe having a restaurant or jetski rentals and possibly restroom facilities. I don't think anything will be a permanent structure so in the event of a flood nothing will be left out there. Everything will be brought out on barges and will probably have some floating docks. I'll be surprised if they actually follow through with the idea.

I have been over there a few times and seen the "Adult" part one time, I have seen alot of kids there too. I am not in favor of the Lease or idea at all. That should remain exactly how it is. Sounds like my kids promising to clean up there messes when their done.

I don't like the idea of this either. The "mooring fees" scare me. Who know how it will play out, but the idea of paying to anchor at the island sounds ridiculous to me.
