Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
I am thinking of joining the Bimini run. Is there anything I would need to do to prepare my boat for the salt water ride? It is and always has been a fresh water boat.
zinc is for salt magnesium for fresh so put a zinc on the right side of the pumps on the extra bosses and leave the magnesium where it is shape won't matter buy some that will work for you on line
So I thought I was being super smart on my pump adding another anode. The pump had only the one, although there were holes for the one on the other side. but it turns out if installed interferes with the steering cables on my 08 230, so I had to remove it, or it would not turn. What's up with this?
We have done the very same thing with no issues so perhaps you could look how it is contacting the cable and adjust it's position. or make a relocation bracket. I have a picture of a 24 foot we did 2 on but I can not recall where I put it we did it years ago
I believe we made a plate and mounted the anode up above the steering on the side of the pump using the plate to position it where it needed to be and not get in the way of anything. I know on my skies I use stainless brackets to locate these where I want them on the pump I also put them on my ride plates.
@J Bass. By installing tow (bypass) valves or using a set of clamping pliers you can flush your engines with Salt Away while sitting in the salt water if fresh water is available for flushing at the dock in Bimini. I would also consider bringing a jump box especially if you're a single battery configuration.
