Picking the new AR250 up on the 23rd and I have a Keel Guard (black) purchased and I was planning on installing before my first launch. I asked my dealer if they install them and I was told yes, but unless I am beaching it regularly they advised against it. As my other posts mention - I also have a new (to me) drive on Jet Dock. Both Dealership and Jet Dock are advising against a keel guard. I have done a ton of searching (this forum and every other one) and cannot find much info on the way of using a Keel Guard with a Jet Dock. I know many say use it no matter what as it protects against other things as well (floating logs, etc..). I certainly do not want to waste my time installing it if it won't work as intended. I will not ever be beaching it - the sand bar I anchor shallow (3 feet) bow out but keel never is touching.
Anyone with any experience at all with Keel Guards and Jet Dock or other drive on docks please chime in! Maybe I will try it first without the keel guard before spending the time to install it which requires taking sand paper to a brand new hull of gelcoat to get it to stick on! I am thinking it is still a good idea - but want opinions. Thanks!
