Has anybody installed Keel Guard on their 24 foot Yamahas? I am planning on it, but with the keel that runs the length of the boat, I was wondering if it caused a problem with the Keel Guard not peeling off, since it has to wrap around the keel, rather than adhering to a relatively flat surface, as on previous model 24s.

No problem with mine i have a charcoal colored keel guard it runs from just under the bow eye to the start of the protruding keel. I can measure and get pictures tonight if you like

Thats what I needed to know....thanks alot!

Would love to see if you have the time.....I figured it would work ok, but since the Keel was a new feature, just wanted to make sure....thanksalot!

I put it on when boat only had 10 hours or so on it so surface was perfect. I have the grey hull and it blends in amazingly. I will definitely get pictures tonight. I am taking an electrical circuit diagnostic class for work and we get out pretty early so shouldn't be a problem

Did you use a 9 foot or 10 foot? I think they recommend 9, but I believe others have used 10.

Thanks for your time and effort. ..very much appreciated! Just ordered a white 9 foot Keel Guard!

It's a bit of work to do it correctly, but the results are awesome. Just don't skip or skimp on steps to prepare the surface.

Anyone have any recommendations on where to purchase? 9ft for $180ish on Amazon seems steep.

That's a fair price. I paid $192.61 for a 10' section from Amazon last year. It's now $201.

Don't forget there is KeelShield, too. I have had it, and will go back. Never compared side by side myslef, but experienced the best customer service and best warranty first hand - I hit a concrete ramp and tore a piece off, they replaced it at no cost, no questions. Saved my a$$, too, there was no damage to gel coat under the ripped keel shield.
