I like to do an oil change at the end of the season. I usually go alone and told myself I would visit Jocassee for what usually ends up being the last outing of the season. When 70 degree temps hit last weekend, there was no question what I would do that afternoon. Lake Jocassee is in the northwest corner of South Carolina. Access is via Devil's Fork State Park, though there is nothing hellish about it. Once the launch lot fills they do not allow anyone else in, so it is never crowded on the water. That is only on days like Memorial, the 4th or Labor Day. This day had about 15 trailers in the lot. I saw three boats on the water.

That looks like a gorgeous lake! Great photos @Seadeals.

@Trevor Shipman, the last waterfall is located as marked below. Full pool helps getting close.

Nice! Im only about 2.5 hrs away from greenville! Is there camping locally? I may have to check this out!

@njmr2fan there is camping in Devils Fork SP including cabins. They also have a boat-in only camp area at the southern most cove south of the peninsula with the waterfall marker above.

Looks amazing. We usually go to Myrtle Beach every summer for a week but I think I am going to start a SC state lake tour. Get a cabin and spend a week on the lake.

Let's pick a weekend and meet up. I'm game.

Hey njmr, we frequent Clarks Hill in the summer. Putting in at Wildwood, hands down the best launch/parking I have ever seen.. We usually tool around for a while running to Aruba or wherever.

We also plan on camping at devils fork this summer. We usually bring the boat and golf-cart and the bro-in-law brings the camper and we ham it up for the weekend.

Sweet! We'll probably be out on the lake Saturday Afternoon and Sunday. Shoot me a text if you're ever near.
Andy

One of my favorite lakes! We have rented house there and camped at Devils Fork. I like that it is one of the easiest ramps to launch with a motorhome.
