Lake Keowee... Looking for information

[Boat Crazy]

I will be staying on Lake Keowee SC. June 26-July 4 and looking for some advise and places to see. I would be interested in any information you may have but especially would like to know:
At what mile markers are the water falls located?
What restaurants would you recommend (both on and off the water)?
Is the northern or southern end of the lake better for boating and views?
Are there places on the water ie. rock area's, low water area's I need to watch out for?
Is there a must see or recommended see for on land activities?

Lake Keowee is very packed on Holidays. Be prepared for rough water from all the boat traffic, there are no mile markers and there will be dnr officers that will check your boat for proper equip and dui operators. Be sure to visit Lake Jocassee for mountain views just a few miles north of Keeowee . Approx 5 to 10 miles

Waterfalls are mostly on Jocassee (the lake that feeds Keowee); but Keowee does have an awesome waterfall and party cove. Here is a list of our lake favorites to get you started. We prefer the north end of the lake for better views and less development.

Red Dot: The Waterfall - get there EARLY
Northern (2) Blue Dots: Rock Jumps (really good ones)
Green Dots: favorite swimming holes/beaches
Yellow Dot: Marina/Restaurant
Southern Blue Dot: "The Wall" Nuke plant outlet
You will enjoy it amidst the "traffic". If you are staying on the lake, you can enjoy much of this in the early or late hours avoiding the rush.

Nice to meet you on Yesterday Boat Crazy. We will be back on Keowee tomorrow. We were thinking about putting in at Keowee Marina and checking out the South end of the lake.

@SamCF Yesterday we boated from the left northwest fork to Keowee state park. A very beautiful ride. Not much boat traffic during the week. I do recommend having at least a phone gps. Those many varied islands can confuse you if in the area for the first time. I will be boating mostly in the southern Northwest fork just north of the bridge. Much narrower waters but very smooth water for wake boarding. I may check out the 188 bridge cove also. If you see me flag us down. Great meeting you akso.

99% of our time is spent between the waterfall where we met you and the northern end of the lake. It's really smooth water during the week, but brutal on the weekends.
