So I am new to this boating thing, it’s going to start getting dark at 530pm. I want to keep using my boat maybe a fun date night with the wife.

What activities are there and what do you recommend
Places to eat or go?
We could fish.

How is operating the boat at night? Is the moon usually pretty bright like when camping

TIA!

The good news is that with earlier nights and cooler weather most of the drunks/inexperienced boaters won't even be on the water, be very careful at night on Lewisville (especially your side of the lake)

people going from party cove back to sneaky pete's or the colony, it's probably the old man in me coming out, I just remember the boat that got ran over by another boat one night and they never found the offender,

We normally always play west of the 35 bridge,

@B0at1n morenpower to you to want to go boating on this weather. I am not sure my bilge pump can keep up with this weather.

My wife and I have not had a great experience with the water in lake Lewisville. Our overnight dates are exclusively at lake ray Roberts. It is less than 30 miles from Eldorado and the ramp is new. Also they have put a lot of lights so you can retrieve at night without any issues.

There are a couple of really stumpy coves that none ventures into to them. We manage to go through at 0.5mph and have the entire place to our selfs. We even get to see deer and other wildlife while chilling there. The water is very well protected, so you can even sleep at night with very minimal roll

I definitely want this rainy weather to stop. The lake is more than full so we are good to go for now.

I didn’t really consider spending the whole night on the boat, was just thinking of cruising getting dinner, maybe a little fishing. I’m sure with the 24 footer You have a lot more room.
Did you just take sleeping bags?

How were bugs?
I was talking with a guy today who said that the worst part about night boating is the bugs. I’m guessing he is referring to summer time vs the cooler months.

we use the center bow cushions and we have a bow cover. My wife is 110lbs so there is enough room for the 2 of us. As a back up , I use inflatable single air mattress on the cockpit. It is a tight squeeze but once inflated it is very comfy.

Surprisingly enough we also never had issues with bugs while in the water. We will get a bite or two but nothing serious. Especially compared to Bimini which was mosquito nightmare
