Just finalized the deal on a 2015 SX240. Traded in my 18 ft bow rider that I bought new 10 years ago for the boat of my dreams :-). I've been looking at Yamaha models for the past few years and always had my eye on a used 230. This years SX240 was everything we were looking for so had to take the plunge. Probably minimal mods this year. Maybe add a sub and upgrade speakers. Had a bullet proof Yamaha jetski and hoping this boat is every bit as reliable. Should be fun.

Congrats, and welcome aboard!

Congrats, and don't worry - every one starts out with the "minimal mods" line! Next thing you know, there's perfect pass, seadek, cushions, stereo, towers, covers, anchors, trailer upgrades, lights, anchor lights, steering wheels, etc, etc... You will be infected by the mod bug if you stay here long.

Would love to see some pics of your new purchase...

Awesome! Congrats, and that's a great boat you bought. And like @jawsf16 said, you'll be feeding your "addiction" before you realize it. Enjoy.

Welcome aboard and congrats! I never get tired of opening "new posts" and seeing a "1" beside a new name. Like @jawsf16 said, were infectious, so the Rx for recovery is open jetboaters.net at least 3x daily, and load up pics and posts at least once daily, followed by at least a "list of desired mods" the first year, followed by "list of mods" thereafter. It is a funny thing about mods...there are even mods for the mods! Congrats on the boat, keep us "posted", and as always, WELCOME ABOARD!

Once the sticker shock wears off the mods may follow. I test drove the 2015 Limited S last fall since the dealer didn't have an SX in stock. Everything about that ride was amazing and really convinced us that Yamaha was the way to go. Fit and finish is outstanding. I've sat in my actual black SX at the dealer twice but it's snow bound so I won't be taking delivery til the first 60 degree sunny day in April. Great forum!!

Welcome aboard @Patriot and congrats on the new boat. I'm sure you'll love it. Is it on the showroom floor of the dealership? If so, you could visit it and have lunch in it a few times between now and when you take delivery. ;)

You can push on the throttles and make "vroom vroom" sounds, too. We understand.
Congratulations.

Sounds like something I would do :-) but its in the dealers lot with the travel cover on. I think I'll like that cover for winter storage. Since I know how people love pics, especially us in the frozen north, here's the Limited S that we test drove in the fall...we had the sales guy duck down while we snapped pics...DSCN6562.JPG

Nice looking boat!!!! As I've said to everyone else buying a 2015 24' Yamaha.....JEALOUS!! Where in Mass are you? I now have a team in Burlington MA I'll be visiting regularly.

Congrats on the sweet new boat! Maybe we'll see you on the water in our new boat. Where in Mass are you?

We're in Dartmouth. The SX240 will allow us to expand our boating area for sure.

Damn! I thought this thread was about 1977 Kawasaki street cruisers. Bitterly disappointed.

@Patriot -- In all seriousness, congrats and welcome aboard!

Congrats, you'll love it!

@Patriot - First, a BIG WELCOME here ............. Glad you chose to spend some of your time with all of us !

Now to the issue at hand .......... WOW ! On the new boat. One day soon, you're gonna be cruisin' down the Lake sayin' "This is THEW BEST UPGRADE decision we've ever made !" Excellent choice. The 2015 24'ers are HARD TO BEAT !

Looking forward to even more photos in the near future, Son ! In the meantime, Best Wishes, Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

By the way ......... Someone shooda bought that 2015 242LS that @Patriot test rode on as it appears it's a Collector's item.
Yamaha does not do the side decals like what was on that boat. I think they did a few and then stopped. I may be wrong.
Pretty Kewl looking !
