Welcome to Jetboaters.net!
We are delighted you have found your way to the best Jet Boaters Forum on the internet! Please consider Signing Up so that you can enjoy all the features and offers on the forum. We have members with boats from all the major manufacturers including Yamaha, Seadoo, Scarab and Chaparral. We don't email you SPAM, and the site is totally non-commercial. So what's to lose? IT IS FREE!
Membership allows you to ask questions (no matter how mundane), meet up with other jet boaters, see full images (not just thumbnails), browse the member map and qualifies you for members only discounts offered by vendors who run specials for our members only! (It also gets rid of this banner!)
I have two ideas and am wondering which would be preferred.
1. We have an after launch logo contest. Perhaps we get it started just before launch.
2. I don't think we have any artists amongst us but my wife is a High School Art Teacher and I have a friend who is graphic design professional. I could get one of them or their students to design a logo. I would probably end up paying http://scottfisk.com to design a logo.
I was thinking about an animated logo at the top of a boat with a jet rooster tail zooming across...and the roostertail materializes into the "Jetboaters.net" name and logo. Would be cool....
@Julian, I sent your suggestion to Scott. Will let you know what he says. I think the boat and impellers would need to be redrawn for copyright concerns.
I agree with Murf, make the boat shape a slick and sexy shape instead of a Yamaha design. Stay away from copyright issues. Something resembling what jetboatpilot has for his logo. I always thought it looked pretty cool.
Is a photo of a boat something that can be copyrighted because it is of a particular manufacturer? I wouldn't think that is likely. That said....I get your point....but we also don't want to be seen as favoriting a vendor. Heck, we could have a rotating boat style....one week Yamaha, one minute Scarab, one day Seadoo, then back to Yamaha...LOL (time based on user penetration of the site LOL).....just kidding! But I agree....sleeker...at the very least...lose the bimini....and toss it up top....lets see how it looks/interacts with the UI....
This is what I used for our SE gathering in 2012.....made shirts with that on the front left chest, and has a cool Gaston map with jet boat swooshing through it on the back. I only post it here as we want to make it clear....members can do what ever they like, order from whomever they please and GO FOR IT!
That said, my brother runs an apparel store in Tampa (technically Oldsmar) that specializes in small, custom orders. OperationROL has used him. And that can cooler was made by him. Shameless plug, but transparent! His has a web site at http://www.bigfrog.com/oldsmar/ but doesn't have a web front end (yeah I know....I've hassled him on that!)
