Have yet to ride in one, but expect the extra weight to be an improvement over my 99 sportster 1800 I like so much.

I have yet to see a nice one in person. Both I saw in Houston were quite deteriorated.

Then this caught my eye

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Jet-Boat-2005-SX230-High-Output-/282148567704

I am Not in New York. Looks to good to be true. Anyone knows current owner, or has ever seen this on the water?

I welcome any good leads for a near by 230 HO boat at a good price. (Cheap, don't mind the tower, but don't need it either) hoping for 20k or less for 2007+ and less for 05 or 06. Need trailer.

Mine currently does 45 with help from the wind (GPS) so I'm hoping for an upgrade in top end.

I welcome your thoughts.

Thanks.

That would be a ridiculous steal for someone!

I know @PEARCE was trying to sell his 05 sx230 a month ago. He is located in DFW area.

That is a crazy low starting price....even if it has no trailer, bimini and a torn cover....I wonder if it has a reserve price on it.....

Backed by ebay buyer protection....... ;)

I got a video of the boat starting and running after asking for it. Not a very thorough video, but at least the boat exists and the poster can record a video of it starting. He agreed to use escrow.com have not yet decided on bidding.

From my perspective that is a $12K to $15K boat in the spring. If it goes cheap and @Beachbummer does not want it someone local should buy the boat to flip.

Still a decent deal, with room for improvements.

@Beachbummer glad you made it over here!

The trick with ebay is to know the reserve.

Thanks. Anyone know anybody near the areas that could assist with it??? (Compensation provided, of course)

I bid the minimum price just for kicks and giggles. It didn't say that the price was below the reserve, so I'm guessing there isn't one?

I am in Kentucky, so not in a position to check out the boat, but if for some reason my price is the highest bid (which I can't imagine, and don't really want to happen) I would drive up with my 07 trailer and bring it back home to flip. Of course I wouldn't spend a penny on it without a test drive and an in depth look at everything.

"Enter US $7,099.00 or more"

I bet the reserve is set somewhere around where @Bruce had it.

From my little knowledge of Ebay, that is just the next bid rate. When you set up an auction you can tell them what you want the bid interval to be. It looks to me like the seller made the interval $100 which is common on large ticket items.

EBay is upfront about reserve. There is none for this auction. The next bid is $100 above the prior.

If you end up bidding and getting it for $7,099 that means I cost you $100. Stop in Cincinnati on your way home and I'll buy you a steak dinner and beer. ;)

There is no reserve on the boat. The higest bid wins.

The auction says the trailer is included :)
