Hello everyone. I am looking for some advice on a modest audio system upgrade on my 2013 AR190. Not looking for anything that is obnoxiously over the top, but enough to be able to listen to while underway. Interested in some tower speakers and new head unit for sure. Would like to add a remote unit somewhere on the swim platform. I am pretty confident in my ability to do the install with some research and self education.

Just looking to learn from what others have done and been happy with.

Thanks!

I went with a Fusion HU. MS-UD755. Mostly because I like the idea of storing/charging my phone inside the unit. It also allows you to easily zone, cabin vs subs vs tower & set volume limits etc. They have a wired platform remote MS-NRX300 that you can basically do everything from the back of the boat. It's a bit more expensive but it's very marine capable.

Tower speakers: IMHO you'll need an amp. You'll also need 2 batteries. A battery switch. A battery charger. Here I just went with wetsounds. You can be obnoxious or you can be drowned out by someone else obnoxious. You simply can't even begin to compete with Rev10's.

This is a very very broad subject. The first thing you'll need to figure out is budget. That's key. Anything is going to require amplifiers to power. Either just for cabin to hear while underway, and definitely for towers to be worth adding.

@redthumper9 has an incredible sound system in his, and was a big inspiration for mine. However, both his and mine...... Are obnoxious as you stated. The rule I went with was this..... I can always turn it down when it's too loud, but can't turn it up if I don't have enough.

Anyway here's a video I did of mine yesterday. It's a basic walk through of sound system with distance test.

It's impressive how the sound really radiates that far back from the tower speakers.

Right? That's the Wetsounds Rev10s beauty.

I really need to do one of these walk around videos?.

Amen you do. Highly suggest you do yours in the middle of a field though. A really really really big field. Cause I got some super pissed off looks in my neighborhood doing this at a school ?
