my wife and I are soon to be relocating to west Texas as both of our kids and families live in Midland, TX we have found lake Nasworthy area as a possibility to move to seems this is the only area in west Texas with boatable water, anyone on this site able to shed some light on this lake?

I don't know if I should congratulate you on the move or not ?

If you've not seen it try this link, you can click by municipality or river basin to get current levels,
http://www.waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/municipal/san-angelo

I don't think Nasworthy is on there because it is a local municipality lake rather than a COE lake??

Can't help with boatable water but lived in Midland for awhile. You will love the people but long for green trees....or anything green.

if I had my choice I would stay in Northern WI we have no shortage of water, but with both kids and their children there, my wife would like to be closer, I suggested Southern OK near Ardmore area she thinks that is too far of a drive. We are going down there in 2 months so will check it out. Thank for the input

I have to travel constantly from central okla to midland so Im pretty well versed on whats in between. All of southern and west texas as in an incredible drought. Lake levels, or lack there of, are rivaled by norther California. is that bad. BUT there is good news.

If you would like to live in a multiple lake accessable area but be relatively close to run down to Midland, Wichita Falls or Ft Worth areas instantly spring to mind. Actually north or south of either. Big lakes are in both areas, several. Plus, from Wichita you can be Midland in 5 hours, 6~7 from Ft worth depending on what side via I20.
