Met these guys at the Hamburg Boat show last week. Seem like a pretty decent bunch of people. As I'm in the middle of a relocate to Buffalo from Louisville they were super helpful in handing out information on how the boats do in various local lakes, and out on the big lake.
I've had good luck with them, haven't really had to have any major service done, I've had them do oil changes in the past, but started doing that my self. They are defintely a small dealership, husband and wife team, not sure how big the service department actually is. They did do a warranty repair on the gel work, had a spider crack on the gunnel at front of boat. Repair is fine, they fixed it over winter. Also, they repaired a hole in my factory cover at no charge which was nice. Generally when I call, I get the VM, but usually get a call back with in a half hour.
Unfortunately I dont have any recommendations for a tire shop. I lease my vehicles so generally dealership does all the maintenance for me. Dunn Tire is the chain shop around the area, I've had them do work in the past, but I'd say it's average service.
Wife and I are new to the area. I started a new position up here in January. Wife and kids won't move up until June-ish.
I’m originally from Buffalo but moved back myself this past fall. This will be our first time on waters here. I’m in the northtown areas so there’s a few spots I hear about on the river that have sandbar like areas.
I'm not aware of any meet ups in the area. I often see Yamahas when launching, so we may have quorum. My Rate your 2023 boating season post touches on the areas we frequent the most. We spend a lot of time in the Sunset Bay area and Buffalo Harbor when Lake Erie cooperates. I generally prefer the lower Niagara to the upper mainly because it is more relaxing IMO, but both have pros and cons. When time allows we also make the trip to Chautauqua Lake and Canandaigua Lake. Both under 1.5 hours from home.
Good to know! We spent a lot of time on Oneida lake in the past 5 years(Syracuse). They have a 3mile sandbar so theres like a huge party every weekend with like 100 boats.
