low compression ski

I am looking at a Yamaha 2002 GP800R with 110 hours.The problem is Runs but One Cylinder Weak Compression. what problems should I expect and what do you think long term is.

If that year had the variable exhaust valves that had the issues of dropping down in the cylinder and taking out the rings I would check that first, also look at the top of the piston for evidence of water intrusion where it removed the aluminum off the top of the piston.
