Its time to replace my stock transducer which was wired to a Lowrance Hook 4 unit by the previous owner. I purchased a new lowrance HDI transom mount skimmer transducer.
The connector on this cable is huge! It definitely wont fit in the oem hole that runs under the swim platform.
Now before someone says “Thats what she said..”
Do i splice the cable or drill a bigger hole to get the connector thru? Is there a nut or grommet that would close around the hole along with 3m 4200?
Also does anyone know if 20’ of cable is enough to get to the helm in an SX230HO?

I had the same connector on my oil boat(crownline) I mounted it in the engine bay inside a 4 inch pvc tube with a screw lid and filled with mineral oil. The PVC tube was glued to hull............this method works great as long as their is no air gap through the hull. Not sure about Yamaha hull they have interlinears in the engine bays........ but closer to stern around exhaust resonators it looks to be raw glass (straight shot through hull to water) No big hole on outside of boat using tube method.

I will look for a picture on my phone of my old setup.
