Hi I am a new poster, LX210 owner for about 17 years. Last week I took the boat for a spin, heading back home the port engine died. I put the boat in neutral and attempted to restart the engine. It cranked a couple of times and then it squealed at me while cranking. I stopped, as that would mean metal to metal issues somewhere. I headed home on one engine and put it on the boat lift.
On the lift I pulled the inspection plug and found nothing, except an impeller that was loose on the shaft. I have seen many posts about how hard it is to get the impeller off, not the opposite issue.
I pulled the impeller and shaft, it appears just fine with minor cavitation damage. While the impeller and shaft were out, I thought I would try to crank the engine over without the spark plugs in it to see if there was a motor issue. It cranked a couple of times and seemed to lock up. I have no way to manually turn the engine over without the shaft and impeller installed. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem may be or have some suggestions?
