Hello fellow Jetboaters!!
I have a 2013 sx210 with 410 HRs on it. (Thank god for florida weather!!). She runs like a top but always want to stay on top of my maintenance so I have a couple questions.
1. Anyway I have always maintained it myself but since my hours are creeping up I am wondering if I should take it into a shop? One of the things it mentions in the maintenance manual is to inspect and adjust valve clearance. Anybody done this themselves?
2. Second it mentions to inspect/replace the fuel filter. I haven’t been able to find one. Am I missing something?
3. Any suggestions for best way to maintain the steering cable? I typically add oil to the cables under the steering wheel and turn it back and forth but doubt that little bit of oil is coating the rest of the cables.
4. It says to replace the air filters ever 200 hours but mine are still fine. The boat is garage kept. No reason to replace if they visual look fine, right?
5. On the bottom of the cap for the air filter is a little gray cap. Mine are completely melted. Why would this happen and should I replace them? Can’t find the part online. Pic attached
6. Other than oils change, spark plugs, and grease what else do you do to maintain your boat mechanically? I’m in florida so no need to winterize.
7. Anybody else have this many hours on their boat? What are some things to watch out for that maybe I should preemptively replace?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Jason
