Recently purchased a 2015 SX210 and just have a few questions about maintenance. Do you guys follow the suggested maintenance that the dealers/Yamaha recommend? Do you have to do this maintenance to keep the warranty going? I got a 4 year warranty under their June special they are running now. I will post a picture below of the suggested maintenance they are saying and let me know what I should do or not do.

Also after every boat ride in a Yamaha boat in the ocean/salt water where we are what would be my biggest concerns when all done for the day. Flushing the engines of course is huge, how important is rinsing the sides and underside of the boat with fresh water? Is it a must each time? Also if it's needed each time is soap a must each time or once a month type thing? Where all do you spray the hose water? Inside the boat some? Seems like the salt would be all inside the boat also. Also they sell some leather conditioner product for the seats. Any kinds you guys recommend and how often to apply it?

Anything else I'm not thinking of that needs to be done?

Thanks for any and all help you can provide to this first time boat owner!

See pics below on what they suggest

Yes I do their recommended maintenance.
You need to do it so as not to void the warranty (plus its good stuff)-but it is simple stuff, and the parts should be under $100
What special on YES are you referring to?

I only occasionally boat in salt water...and rinse my entire boat when I do (and trailer)

If you look on Yamahas website they have a special right now for 4 year extended warranty with any jet boat purchase in June or $500 off. I thought the 4 year warranty was worth more than $500 and nice piece of mind so we went with that.

For starters, congrats on the new boat @NewBoater !

You'll want to do your regular maintenance just to keep your boat in tip top shape, more so than worrying about the warranty. Maintain your boat and you will not have a need for the warranty. Curious why the "10 Hour" service was changed to "20 Hour." I've only ever seen 10 hour service after break-in. But for the most part, yes on the items on the list. However, you'll want to change your spark plugs, oil, and oil filter once a season, along with greasing the bearing house. Some change the oil filter every 2 seasons. There are other small things to do, like spraying down the engines with YamaLube.

As far as cleaning, I boat in salt water and wash my boat thoroughly inside and out after every outing. I flush both engines as well. I usually do not cut corners when it comes to cleaning (but I'm kinda OCD).

As far as the seats, I used to coat them with a 3M product. It was a thick liquid that you would rub on, then wipe off. Almost like a wax. However, I recently started using a Meguire's Vinyl Cleaner/Protectant in the spray bottle and I'm extremely pleased.

But basically, take care of your boat and it will take care of you. You'll love your boat. Good Luck

What's the best method/s for cleaning inside the boat?

Because the sea spray (salt water) can get anywhere inside the boat, I use soap and water, just like on the outside. I rinse off with a light spray though. Not trying to shoot water into areas that don't need it. Dry it with a Chamois. Let the boat dry for a day before I replace the boat cover.
