image.jpg never had them released and caanot get them to re-ingage. Help! Is this where it needs to be?
 
Remove the electrical tape holding the pin and brakes should work again. The pin is there to disengage the brakes as it prevents the tongue from compressing.

What is the white stuff?
 
Agreed, you have to remove the "D" key / side lockout to allow the surge brake to operate as it should. Is your trailer mounted on the ball correctly? It looks like it may be sitting on top of if but that the ball is not all the way in the socket. P
 
Thanks guys. I think I was just being a little "special" this morning. The white stuff is an old sticker. Yes, the ballnis all the in socket. These newer trailers sit a little odd looking.
