Can anyone with easy access to their boat measure the length of the gas shocks in their ski locker and cleanout hatch, and get an estimate of the force needed to compress it? Mine are missing in my new boat, and I would rather get stainless ones since they're available for cheaper than the original parts.

Clean out hatch is 17" and 40 lbs of pressure. I'm not sure on the ski locker and right now I don't have access to my boat to check.

I can check tomorrow as I will be Easter boating!

Thanks guys. With I could take her out but we got rain and more rain :(

We didn't take the boat yesterday. Was too busy with family. I'll look after work today.

15" in ski locker and I believe 30# here is number on shock. SE150P-30

Thanks.

Well, that number pulls it up even cheaper... I'll go with the stainless ones anyway, looks nicer.

Any chance you still have the label on your engine hatch struts as well? The supports are there, but I just installed sound insulation and they no longer hold it up very well, I'd like to get ones with an additional 5-10lbs of support, but the labels on mine are long gone.

I can get tomorrow or the next. It's all covered at the moment. Unless someone beats me to it.

I can probably haul a bathroom scale up to storage with me if it's a hassle. Just asking in case someone has easy access. Thanks :)

Here is a photo of gas strut.

Can I just go to advanced and buy one or will it rust immediately?
Those are the same as the factory installed ones and will rust at the same rate. Of course if you don't want rust you will have to go with the stainless steel models.

Are the little u clip that holds the strut to the ball replaceable? Or do I have to replace the whole thing. I lost one last summer
