Hi all - looking for a mechanic in South Florida that will work on a 255ID Scarab - its a simple repair need the E-Reverse Cable replaced. I know that Riva Motorsport and Broward Motorsport at the dealer, but I will not work with either of them, there turn around time is 3+ months.

Appreciate the help!!!
 
Is this something you could tackle? Are there any videos you could watch?
 
Yip, sure is! just probably take me double to time than someone that has done it before, and I dont have access to BUDS system to program it so would have to figure that part out. Even found an installation guide. attached

Would you really need to reprogram it? If it was the same length I'd think you'd be good. Keep in mind you have adjustment with the brass nut.

This is true. I should just be able to replace the cable provided I can get more or less the same tension on it that i don't have reset the limit of the throttle. WIll give it a try. Any ideas how easy it is to order parts directly from Scarab? or do you have to go through a local dealer?
 
Click here and here to start. Once you get a part number you can search and try different sites. I never go thru a local dealer; too expensive. :happy:

Worse case, you may need to go thru a Scarab dealer. Try Cycle Springs. I purchased my SX-192 from there.
 
where are you in Florida? I have a guy I trust in Stuart FL EBL Watercraft owner is named Bart and he knows his stuff and is straight forward on everything
