Hey guys, anyone out there in the N. IL/S. WI area doing anything this weekend on the water? The forecast looks dismal (as usual) so we are trying to figure out if going anywhere south will be worth it. 4 hours to Shelbyville or Carlyle, idk if that's worth it or not. Let me know what y'all are doing I will NOT be stuck at home on land this weekend!!! First Memorial Day with the new boat, I'm determined to have fun!!!

Ugh! I hear ya brotha, been dismal at best, Saturday looks to be mid 70's and sunny. We typically are on Lake Geneva all summer. Unfortunately mother nature has not cooperated this year to get an earlier, or even a seasonably on time start! Likely we'll be hitting Lake G Saturday!

Think Lake G will be as insane as usual even if the weather doesn't look perfect? I've always shied away because of how busy it is there.

Nah... It'll be great! I suppose being busy can be subjective. We have lots of friends on the lake, including the dock masters, so it's a bit easier for us!

I can see where it could be intimidating if you don't go up there all the time, but it really is very smooth and not very congested, Big Foot beach is another story! ?

I think we’re hitting Lake Michigan near Racine Saturday, Sunday Monday TBD.

Decided to head south. Rend lake or Carlyle, we might try both. Staying right in the middle.

Must be staying in Centralia? Good luck, hope the weather is better than forecasted here all weekend!

Carlyle would be my last resort... It also tends to be very windy.
Rend is okay.
We were at Shelbyville only one time, it was last summer - and we kind of loved it. Don't know what it's like this time of year with all the water.

We’re headed south to Lake Springfield- forecast isn’t great but Monday looks good

We just found out another family is not going to make it this weekend and there may be a vacancy where we stay in Promise Land Wood Landing Resort, Bull Shoals Lake, AK. But it is a LONG haul.
Call me if you are crazy/desparate enough to consider that, lol. The lake is high but it is always beautiful, and very sparsely boated where we go.

Rend is fun but small. Another hour or so gets you to Kentucky lake. Better in every way.

Oh man, wish I had known just a bit sooner! Booked a room at Mt. Vernon, I have tons of Hilton points to burn lol. From there we can try Rend, Carlyle, Shelbyville on the way home if we want, idk. Plus my girlfriend is from Vienna, IL so we can catch up with some of her family (and Mackey’s pizza in Marion). The forecast down there is much better than here, so no matter what we’ll be on the water!

KY lake is on the list, we’d like to spend a week there.

Day 1 at Rend, awesome. Yamahas galore out there, bunch of AR240’s, saw an SX192, I was the only center console beside the game warden. If you’re out there tomorrow and see me, honk and come say hi!!!
