Yes. Had mine replaced under warranty because of that and the corroded jog dial issue.

I have noticed the same thing today! Almost posted a picture: looks exactly like in your picture, even the same pattern.

I have been spraying that remote with white Lithium grease but I guess it can only do so much. The knob started showing a little bit of corrosion early on (last Fall) but when someone here posted about it I sprayed copious amounts of T9 there and the corrosion stopped.

@Mainah Do you know if there is a safe way to disconnect/disable/blind that remote without disabling the HU/stereo?

(After my warranty fiasco with the Bimini trip - I would rather stick a fork in my eye - than deal with Yamaha customer service people, ever again)

My local dealer took care it. I don’t know if the remote can be disconnected and still have the head unit work. I applied marine grease in the knob in hopes of preventing future isssues.
 
My issue is there is no dealer close by to have them tie up my boat for this problem.
I will call them to find out the warranty period for it
