Not sure about the OEM for 2016 models, but mine is made by Outer Armour (supplier for Yamaha) and it uses a vacuum concept to keep it snug and no billow in the wind. The ratchet system keeps it snug around the edges too so no rubbing on the gelcoat - it's made for trailering.
Did you buy it online or at a local shop? I cannot find a dealer
Got it free from the dealer when we bought our boat. I don't think the model we have fits your year though as mine fits 2017-2021...did a search and it looks like yours would be - MAR-210BK-TW-14 fits 2014-2016. Shows out of stock though...not surprising with the covid supply chain issues.
That's the part number I just ordered. I bought it from leadersRPM. Cost me $763 shipped. They said it's out of stock, but will drop ship straight from Yamaha within 7 days.
Still a lot of 2016's in use...I can't see them not making them. Probably just delayed due to covid.
