2008 212x. Engine rebuilt before purchase at 117 hours. Currently 400 hours.
I had an SBT piston in cylinder 3 come apart at 8000 rpm while tubing (probably because I was towing from the tower ?). No noise at all, engine just dropped dead. The head is beat up. The cylinder wall is ate up from the wrist pin. I assume that the head is beyond repair. Has anyone used the SBT head exchange? I am leaning toward that route. I also assume that the cylinder is too far gone to bore out and drop in oversized pistons. That would leave me needing new cases and rebuild from there. Anyone have a different option?
