I've had an issue with the 2 front arms of my 2016 Bimini top. The tips of both arms do not flush evenly with the bracket attached to the boat. Because of this, it is very hard to tighten the screws that secures the arms. Sorry, no photos yet.

I took it to the dealer today and they are telling me that this is normal. They said that I have to kinda yank and reposition the tips to tighten the screws.

For anyone with a newer Yamaha, have you experienced this? It seems to me that it should be a smooth tightening of the screw and that I should not have to yank or reposition anything.

Yep, mine does the same thing. Pull down on the bimini bow with one hand and tighten the T-screw with the other. Makes the top material drum skin tight!

It's like patting your head and rubbing your stomach kind of talent. ;)

I'm going to need some clarification on that statement - because if it's at all like my great-aunt's skin then I'll need to also buy a roller-furling and be ready to set sail!!

I cannot attest to your wonderful great-aunt's skin but I will say that Neil Peart could play a mean solo on my bimini top. :headphone:

I've had to use a similar procedue on my 06 SX230. In order to clip the straps I have to reach up and pull the front top center of the bimini down. Evidently the straps have been upgraded to metal arms.
