I wanted to share my experience with using vinyl paint to refinish my seats.

When i bought my boat the seats were rough. Literally, they sat in the sun and had some products used on them that sunburnt them and caused the surface to be rough. I attempted to get them redone over winter, but that didnt work out. So to get through the year, i figured i would try this out.

I purchased Duplicolor Vinyl paint in white and gave it a shot. The results were pretty amazing. The paint creates a softer and smoother layer that covers well. My seats went from total trash to passable. My rough seats took a bit over a can each, and at about 8 bucks a can it adds up, but WAY cheaper than new upholstery.

Overall, i am very pleased. Its not perfect, but its definitely good enough for the season.

I second that! I used the same paint to re-color the end of my seat that had gotten acetone drops on it. Looks better then new now.

When I was younger I bought a older Larson bow rider (it was my first boat). The vinyl was a terrible powder blue color and so I painted it with duplicolor vinyl paint and it looked great and held up for years. It actually looked factory.

That stuff is great!

Used that with great results on a '69 Camaro many years ago that had a blue interior that I wanted black.

I have to see pics and have been thinking about this for my 2001 that could use some touch up
