We have been planing this through for month as the getaway from COVID-19 lockdown. We arrived in Florida last night and as I get close to the coats I hear on channel 16 that there is an advisory. Not that I was I did not expect it with the windy forecast , but it might turn out this was 1,000lbs of dead weight.

Will see though, thinking maybe I can lunch at Bahia Honda on Tuesday. Someone told me it is a sin to bring a vessel full of fuel from Texas to Florida and bring it back with the same amount of fuel.

That's solid kiteboarding weather....

How adventurous you feeling??

@Betik Can you launch and ski on the leeward side of the Islands. You will not get away from the wind, however the wave action should be less.

And remember that Poseidon watches over his deciples. You know what he likes...If you embibe him he may tell 2 of his brothers of the 4 winds, Boreas and Eurus to calm that NE wind down a little for you.

Have fun...envious.

4-5ft waves… At 5-6 seconds. Lol.

So, let me understand what it means... about one of every 10 waves will be greater than 5 feet; one in every 100 waves will be greater than 6 feet; and one in every 1000 waves will be greater than 7 feet? Or something like that.

Most of us wouldn't even consider this. But then, again, your next trip is where? North Korea?

Yeah, take the ski out.

Yes! If your going to play red rover at the DMZ this shouldn't be that bad

Yesterday we were at John pen Ka amp state park and everything was canceled ( in terms of snorkeling scuba and guided tours etc). Then we get at their “beach” and while the kids were playing at the water I turned on the radio on16. And sure even enough as soon as I turn it on I hear the USCG asking further information about a sunken vessel.

I think that might set my goal of taking claire into lunching the ski....

I visited John Pennekamp State Park in 1983, on our way to Key West. We dived at both. I saw my first Manta Ray at Pennekamp and a lot of Barracuda, fun times. I hope you get out there.

Dove John Pennekamp many years ago, it was like swimming in a tropical aquarium....

@zipper in 2019 I took the ski to molasses reef and I could not get my wife out of the water. I was hoping to repeat that this week, but unfortunately it is out of the question.
As I was heading to Bahia Honda this afternoon (12:58) the USCG was broadcasting for assistance on auto EPIRB around Tavernier and then around 8pm assistance on a boat that had run aground.
So @swatski I caved and did not lunchtime the ski. Needless to say I did not your “daughter” to write me up. Bahia Honda was awesome. The ramp was good and the whole set up. We will defiantly go back there in the future. Key West I do not see us going back there unless we make an attempt on the dry tortugas.

Given all research objectives for this trip have been completed, we checking out early and heading to our favorite place in Florida..... Panama City Beach that is :-)

Bahia Honda ramp. I think it is wide enough for me to manage our trailer :)
Enjoy! I'm just envious. Still looking at snow bunks in my driveway, albeit slowly shrinking.
