So I backed the LX210 a little too far onto the beach yesterday and broke the speed sender/sensor thing. It's a little white "wedge" with a spring and a wire hanging off the bottom of the transom. I still have all the "bits", but they're significantly broken. Anyone got a source and/or tips on replacement? I need to get this done quick... Need to sell the critter and I'd like as much fixed as possible before doing so.

Any marine store will carry a pitot tube, they are all generic. Also, you might get luck in the marine section at Walmart.

So, that $4 part on Amazon is basically the same as the $40 piece of plastic Yamaha wants? Sweet!

I bought one a West Marine a couple of years ago and it is still working.

Anyone happen to know if that's screwed to the hull, or through it? Basically, do I need to access the bilge to put a wrench on some nuts, or is it completely replaceable from outside the boat?

I replaced the speed sensor on my LX210. They are just screws. No need to access the inside.

Initially I tried to hammer the pin out of the old one to avoid removing the screws. Don't do that. You will make it leak. Just remove the screws and fill the holes with silicone before you reuse them.

Thanks. I didn't have the conundrum of the pin... I broke the whole assembly off when I beached it.
