Id like to have a sturdier tire for trailering our AR190. I want a radial that will be capable and safe at 70mph on the highway for longer trips.

Im okay with upsizing the wheel if I can, or need to. I currently have the stock galvanized wheels with Carlisle tires in 185/80/13.

Im looking for recommendations from all of you, who probably know more than me about this.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I know the tires on my SX190 were a trailer tire that had a higher weight rating then standard tires. If you can get a larger tire, just make sure it has the weigh capacity.

Many on here have been going with Maxxis radials when replacing our trailer tires

I just put new tires on my trailer...well "I" didn't do it...I got a guy..., anyway, he recommended Hercules tires - said he's sold a ton of them for trailers so I went with his call on that one. I suppose it would be nice to know if anyone else has used them, but I'm already done - so if it's bad news don't tell me. o_O

More research, and looking for more feedback. I can swap the tires and get a Maxxis radial trailer tire in 175/80/13 from my OEM 185/80/13 here differences. Should I worry about downsizing? Would it be more beneficial to upsize slightly?

Downsizing will put more strain on the bearings (they will be spinning faster), but I am not sure that there would be any issues with that. I bought my new wheel and tires through RecStuff.com. They had great prices, but I live in their cheaper shipping region. They have Kendas and Briways. I went with the Briway (Chinese Brand) against my initial plan after talking to one of the sales reps who could have easily steered me to the more expensive Kenda. He said they haven't seen any issues with them. I got them on sale which ended up being half the cost of the Kendas. I have about 1000 miles on them so far with no issues (knock on wood). It might be worth looking at their website.
