Need help! Deep scratch on bottom of hull! Safe? Can I fix with Marine Tex?

Guys need help! Ran into some rocks with jet boat causing deep scratch. Can I fix with Marine Tex? Will it be ok with Marine Tex? Just got the boat and needs to last awhile.. Or does this need to be done by professionals?

Ouch. That removed part of the chine. I would tint some maine epoxy for that and finish with color matched gel coat.
 
Yep took the shine right off.. lol
Thanks that’s exactly what I’m thinking of doing.
Do you think it would last? Is was my second time out:confused:
 
Agree with above. Getting the exposed fiberglass wet will lead to blistering. Dry it good with a hair dryer before repairing.

I agree with @Mainah, the Chine has been damaged. It will take at least a layer of epoxy possibly with microballoons to build it up so it can be sanded back into shape. And then color match gelcoat.
