2013 Yamaha AR190
Need help, went to take the boat out today for the first day of the season, and I could not get it to start. It cranks briefly (See video here, youtube) and then just stops on its own. Then when I release the key you can see that the engine rocks back into normal position.
On the screen it says battery low voltage, so I charged the battery to 100% and no luck. Then went and bought a new battery thinking my old battery (going on 5 years) could be bad. Hooked the new battery up, and tried to start the engine, same result.
I had my wife try to start it while I looked at the engine shaft, and I can see the shaft spins slightly when the engine cranks, and then 2 seconds later the engine stops cranking on its own.
Anyone know what this could be. My first guess was bad battery, but that wasnt it. Now I am thinking something may be ceased up... Praying that is not the issue...
***UPDATE*** I was able to get the boat started, after fully charging the brand new battery, and spraying WD-40 all over the impeller and housing. After doing some digging on this forum and other forums, I was lead to believe I have a swollen impeller housing. So I am going to replace it. I'll update the thread as I go. Thanks to all for their help and input!
