So after turning on the Infiniti stereo in my new boat, I quickly found that I will need some type of amplifier. It is not nearly as loud as the cheap Clarion in my old SX190 (which was lackluster at best). I would like to install a small amp to help with the volume. I have no interest in installing some extensive sound system that involves more wiring than a simpleton can handle. Any thoughts on a simple amp that is easily installed with minimal wiring, and without having to install a second battery? Plug & Play would be ideal...

I am surprised that the infinity stereo has less output. Have you checked the specs? Are you sure it is wired correctly?

The boat was just delivered this morning so I have not checked much. I certainly would have expected much more from the Infinity stereo. I quickly paired it to my phone and streamed some Pandora to test the sound. I was not impressed. I will have some time over the weekend to inspect further.

Sometimes Bluetooth volume is low. Try another source.

@H2OBoy I know the boys here are going nuts about those Kenmore amps.
Another option, and a road well traveled in this forum, is to go with one of the Clarion XC1410 amps. Those are solid for a budget system and about as simple as it gets.
There have been several good write ups, the one from @eticket's 212 is probably my fave.
Just saying - a different option.

@H2OBoy And congrats on the new boat! That was fast.

I played with one of these at the dealership and it didnt sound that bad. I'd check all the stereo settings first. I know that with Bluetooth the device usually defaults to a mid volume setting, I'd check your phone or iPod volume while its playing then go through the the stereo settings. Maybe the loudness is turned off.

I will check this again and see if something is not in range. Thanks for the help.
