Ok so I have come to conclusion that my system is exactly where I want it to be except for the bass. I'll list what i have and please comment your thoughts on what I should do without spending to much more money. Thanks in advance.

Wet sounds HTX6 amp running 1 bridged JL m10w5 sub in sealed box and 2 wet sounds rev 8 tower speakers also bridged.

JL m600/6 amp running running 6 wet sounds revo 6's

Rockford Fosgate m400/4 running 4 wet sounds revo 8's.

There is barely any bass compared to some boats I heard this weekend but my mids and highs are very loud and clear. The sealed sub is under the back storage seat with a hole cut in the wall and a sub cover over it.

I'm no expert in this but, in the back of your amp you should be able to adjust the gain and crossover to get more power to the speaker. Did you try that?

Sealed box under the seats without a vent is the issue. Initially I had two 12" subs in my boat in sealed boxes, 1 under each seat and push as far back to the stern as possible. All they did was vibrate the boat and didn't produce much sound. I switched to a 10" infinite baffle sub and it sounds 100% better.

Sorry nothing good to add but, all I see when I see your title is "needs more cowbell"

Definitely check your amp settings as @Dean P said. Wetsounds Amps have a frequency and gain adjustment. Set frequency to whatever your box and sub are tuned to (probably 50-80hz). Then set gain by turning it up to distortion, and then turning it back a touch.
I do feel as said above by other people..... Your sealed box is your problem. I'm not a JL guy at all so I don't know how they are in boxes if they are supposed to be. My wetsounds sub can be either sealed, or vented box. They list specs for both. I went vented. This allows the deepest bass to escape. It's loud. Really loud. Like I just blew it last weekend loud ??? (my fault pushing too much power). Here in this walk around video you can hear it no problem....

Here's another video with cover on no towers. This is a bass track...

Do not need to tune the system, I already did that after I installed everything with an oscilloscope. I was thinking more along the lines that I'll have to change out 1 of my amps and get a bigger sub. That sub is only 250 rms.

@CDENsomnia was just telling me about his new WetSounds AS-10 500watt powered sub. I believe this is it. Wet Sounds Stealth AS-10 Marine powered subwoofer — sealed enclosure with 10" sub and 500-watt amplifier at Crutchfield

He installed under starboard bow seat as far back to the helm as he could get.

If all you want is bass, it may make sense to add a powered unit like this or a bazooka to minimize another amp, etc.

I don’t know much about audio anymore... I’ve learned more reading here over the last couple of years than I ever did before when I messed around with my car as a teen.

Does the sub have vented box specs instead of sealed? Perhaps that's all it needs. Being that you have it in the back, and covered by a seat the bass can't come out. Maybe vented box will help that

I could try a vented box. I do have a port hole 20190910_231958.jpgcut in the side and covered with a grill.

Add this box under the starboard bench seat (it will fit, I have a 16 Ar240) add a matching 12" sub (I used a Rockford Fosgate) and a good mono amp (I used a 600 watt Rockford Fosgate) and it will hit hard! I also have a JL 10" grill to let the sound out.

I run 10” IB subs on the port side and I am pretty happy. Whenever I add a tower and tower speakers I plan to add 2 more IB subs on starboard side .... but that will be some time down the road lol. I did not want to lose any storage so this was the best solution for me.

I think you're getting some good advice here. I don't think you need more amps--you've got plenty for what you're running. Before I dropped more money on another amp, I'd try either an IB sub or your existing sub in one of the suggested vented enclosures. The 300W you have on the bridged HTX-6 should be enough to power a vented or IB sub. If you still decide you need more, you can always add another amp and/or another sub, perhaps a powered one as suggested above.

Can you post some pictures of where you mounted the four Revo 8's? I assume your Revo 6's are in the bow, rear cockpit, and swim platform. I'm also guessing two of your Revo 8's are somewhere mid cabin near the helm. Is that correct, and if so, where did you mount the other two Revo 8's?

Really nice system, by the way.

Jeff

A ported enclosure will increase output, especially at/around the frequency that the enclosure is tuned at. If you are using that JL grill as a vent hole, that should be adequate for the sub you have either sealed or ported. It sounds like you have a pretty substantial amount of mids and highs, just not enough subwoofer to keep up. I think you are going to have to go to either a high output 12" in a ported enclosure or maybe (2) 10" subs ported. Oh yeah, and definately more power than 300w.

2 in the bow and 2 at the helm

I just ordered a vented box but I'm pretty sure it won't keep up. Looks like I will need a new high power 5 channel amp and a new sub. I can replace the 4 channel Rockford I have now running the 4 revo 8"s. They can handle more power anyway.

I recently replaced the 6.5” speakers on the swim deck with 8” speakers and a dedicated amp and found that they produce a lot of bass, more than my 10” subwoofer mounted to the side of the captains chair hitch also has a dedicated amp powering it. Had I known before I installed the 10” sub I would not have installed the 10” sub.

I replaced stock speakers with Rev 6.5 (added two extras mid cabin), Rev10s on the tower and custom ported box in the helm storage with a Rev 12. The helm is also ported with custom grill under dash. Also installed the WetSounds EQ to give more control of sound444095A9-34FE-4484-9021-7EF2BE00F20E.jpegC6D845C5-A777-4788-BEF4-98505EFA3B77.jpegE5EC6AF3-99C3-4CA4-AAF1-227C511CBA89.jpeg71FCAFA8-CF15-4216-BE4B-5226FB30B377.jpeg

Aloha @CraigAR sounds like u have a great system already, IMO ur lows can’t keep up with ALL that mids and highs u have. U have 10 speakers and REV8’s on the tower, all of them with good power. I don’t have nearly as much speakers and felt the lows couldn’t keep up. I think a vented box will help boost ur lows. I solved my issue by having a custom vented box made and installed in the large head compartment, cause I don’t really use it for anything. Now my lows keep up with the mids and highs. Just my 2 cents...
