What’s up gang, so about a month ago I started looking at boats because our family vacation got cancelled and figured we’re going to need something to look forward to this summer. I went back and forth between Scarab and Yamaha and settled on the 212x in white and red. The family fell in love with this boat at the dealer and I knew this was the one. We’re super excited!!!

This will be quite a transition from my old Nitro bass boat that I sold after we had our first child. Now he’s 7 and our daughter is 3 so it’s a good time to get back into being on the water. We’re located in western Massachusetts and although there’s not a lot of “good” water locally, there’s enough within a 75 mile radius.

We’re scheduled to pick up the boat 6/12 and I’m curious to know what everyone recommends for pgrades, add ons, gear, etc. This is the list I’ve got so far and any guidance or opinions are appreciated!

Rejex
Boat juice interior/ exterior kit
Slide anchor for stern
Trailer guides - need recommendations
Bow roller - need recommendations
Magma grill - not sure what model yet
additional fenders

The dealer is giving us the Yamaha wake surf package, mooring cover, coast guard package, Yamaha life jackets, and a tube for the kids at no charge.

I’m glad to be part of the family and will post pics as soon as I get her!!

Tim

Hey Tim . Welcome and Congratulations on your purchase. You have a good list of accessories started and I would only say that the Stoltz bow roller on your trailer is a must ASAP. I would also say that you negotiated a very good deal with your dealer for him to throw in all those "goodies" . The only thing I would add is that the twin engine jet boat is going to handle a LOT different than that Nitro you remember! Not better or worse , just a lot different . You will adapt. It may get frustrating in your first few outings , especially trying to master the slow speed and reverse maneuvers ? I hope you get the hang of it rapidly and enjoy the boat as is , without steering enhancements (sorry Jeff & Will), but if not there are two very good and reputable members on this forum that specialize in steering enhancement products for our boats. Check out Jet Boat Pilot (JBP) and Cobra Jet Steering after operating your boat a few times with the stock configuration. MANY , MANY threads on here detailing the differences in those systems. Enjoy !

Welcome @EzPeazy, great boat choice! The 212x is a very capable boat. It sounds like you are into some watersports activities. One of the best mods for watersports is the Hydrophase Ridesteady GPS speed control. You set it and it holds perfect speed for wakeboarding, skiing, wakesurfing. Its It's a must have in my opinion. BONUS, it digitally synchronizes your engine RPM's, even during regular driving.

Did your dealer include the Slingshot Coaster wakesurf board with your WakeBooster package? If not, or if you're interested in anything else watersports related please feel free to reach out. I'm a watersports dealer for Slingshot, JetPilot, O'Brien, Airhead. I'm happy to give recommendations and discounts.

Also, you're bound to find out while surfing that the wave is actually quite small. You may manage to go ropeless, but the wave is not much to play on. Add the Gantlin Products custom transom ballast bag to your list. It puts the right amount of ballast in the right place.

Have a fun and safe summer!

Nice, your gonna love the 212x! Rides nice and looks sharp. I would say the thing I am not seeing on your list, and I would put near top (was my first!) is to add a keel guard. If your gonna beach at all, or if your boat in water where sticks and branches are occasional hazards it is a no brainer, low cost add on. Besides I remember those New England lake beaches as more rock than sand, at least in CT and ME! Enjoy!

added 65" Tall Post Guide-On, 1 Pair (Galvanized Finish) today look good on trailer will adjust to boat when I pull off lift Wed! Feel like they are good for the price and would at this point recommend.

Second this for sure. Have only had my boat out 3 times, and the second time they saved me from cross loading in the wind for sure. They put me right on center and I was very glad they were there
