I have a 2007 Yamaha SX 210. Through the help of others on this forum I was successfully able to connect the YDS software to read the codes and delete previous ones that were no longer accurate. It was also able to see my hours which was nice.
However, I was unable to clear or turn off the check engine lights that are on for both engines. Now is the frustrating part, I had it at the Yamaha dealer, and they told me that there was nothing wrong with the boat or the engines, and I could pay them to spend hours troubleshooting how to turn the lights off, even though everything was working correctly, or instead, I could enjoy my boat, knowing there is nothing wrong with it. I chose the latter. It is a bit ironic that it seems the error is the light itself not anything that it is detecting. This was a few years ago, and I have been enjoying my boat without issues.
Now I am planning to sell the 2007 to upgrade to a more recent model. I know there is nothing wrong with the boat, but a prospective buyer could understandably have concerns.
Can anybody either offer a way they know to clear all lights or to validate that this is a known issue of having lights on with no problems on the boat?
I was hopeful that through the YDS I would be able to clear them, once again I was able to delete the code, but not make the light go off on either engine.
Incredibly frustrating and would be immensely appreciative of any help.
