Hi Everyone,

My name is DW...

I just picked up my new 2017 SX190 last week. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to take her out. The wait is killing me...

Anyway, I was wondering if I might get some feedback on a couple of issues....

After getting my boat home, I was going over her and I noticed something strange... there is a cable looped around in the front starboard underseat stowage area that just looks out of place. I'm hoping someone can tell me if it's normal. Please check out the pics.

Secondly, I asked before I showed up and was told that my boat have never been in the water. However, once I got there, it had .4 hours on it, which I was told was due to the dealership having to test the boat out before they could sell it. Is this a normal? Or was it probably some demo that had happened and they didn't want to say that?

Thanks in advance,

That looks like either the throttle, reverse bucket, or steering cable, but that looks excessively long. Hopefully somebody will have better input for you than that.

My throttle cables loop like that. You wouldn’t want the bend to be too tight on a cable.

The hours are right for a new boat. They do get run a little from the factory and sometimes the dealership to make sure all is right with the boat. It’s also been run wide open so don’t be alarmed at a stored hi top speed.

You don't know how happy your response was for me. My gauge showed 45 for top speed and that was really freaking me out! My first thought... those idiots at the dealership ran my new boat wide open!

Do you or anyone have any suggestions about how to route those cables out of the way so someone doesn't accidentally yank on the cable when getting stuff out of that stowage area... or is doing anything a bad idea.

Also, can that top speed be reset!!!

Thanks again!

It can be reset I’m sure. I have connext and you just hold the button down for 3 seconds and it resets.

Congrats on the SX190 you will really enjoy her, I concur with the post above either they are either the throttle or steering cables not sure which ones..But rest assured this forum will take care of any questions or concerns you have the guy on here are fantastic and very knowledgable.

I am in the pre buying stage and I can tell you that the folks here are simply fantastic......:)

My boat said 60 mph top speed I was pumped. Even though I knew it was not true.

Mine is the same way. Enjoy your new boat and congrats!

Yamaha takes every boat out and runs them on water before the seats and everything are in (basically a hull and engine only), that's why it had some time on the engine and the saved max speed may seem excessive.

Thanks again everyone. Appreciate all the responses and warm welcome!!!
