New 195S

Judging from the comparison chart, it's an AR195 with "luxury" additions:
- snap-in teak-style marine mats
- SX-style passenger-side captains chair
- walk-through bow door
- docking lights
- 7" display w/ maps & joystick
- upgraded marine stereo (Fusion brand) & Wet Sounds speakers & stern stereo remote
- 5 pop-up cleats instead of 6?? typo?
- spare tire/mount

What is a walk through bow door?

Here's a video for a 212 go to the 5 min 16 sec part of the review to see it in action, it should help extend some folks season...

I think you’re getting good value over the AR195 for not much more money

The tower design looks a bit different also.

I want to retrofit that walk through door to mine

Man, Yamaha really did an awesome job with the 19ft redesign by keeping everything that was great about the original 19ft option and making it so much better. Looks wise I would say they are approaching the luxury market (I can't speak for the feel and finish yet). Can anybody attest to improvements on the engine noise?

Dunno....I see some things I like and some things I don't. Most of it is the 2019 update I still don't like 100% though. I don't keep up much with the competition, as I'm somewhat sold on the simplicity of the drivetrain for the remainder of my boating years, so some of these new features may be responses to market pressures that I'm out of the loop on.
  • Hinged seats are bad IMO. Makes the opening too small to get anything in/out of. This looks like an SX190 with a tower. I know the "J-Seating" is a polarizing subject, but we love it.
  • Tower speakers are an easy add IMO, so not a ton of value there.
  • The 195's do have nicer finishes than the 190's and I wouldn't mind the look/feel of the different surfaces (alum grab handles, seadeck, etc), but I think I can upgrade my 190 if I really wanted to.
  • Seat back for center front bow area. My 190 doesn't have this, but I think the 195's do. This is nice.
  • The walk-thru door addition is a nice touch, depending on how it's setup/integrated.
  • I'm not a fan of the new cockpit area. I kind of like the throttles "hidden" and not just on a flat wall. Just mounted a stereo remote in there too on mine.
  • I'm on the fence about Connext really. I seem to read a lot of issues with it and battery voltage. Guess I just like my traditional gauges. Ayone with a 19ft with a connext screen been caught in a torrential downpour? Seems like the touchscreen wouldn't work so great when soaking wet with active rain.
  • Wonder why they moved the ladder to Starboard from Port?
  • Bow cupholder placement is not great on the new inner hull. Who wants to face forward with a drink in their back?
  • I do like the black molded storage area on the port side beside the front passenger seat. There is a ton of space there on my 190 that isn't used, and I've been trying to figure out how I can "mold" something to fit in there to hold drinks and stuff.
  • Is that an 8in sub on the starboard rear storage wall?
  • Looks like the center rear cushions unsnap and are possibly removable. That would be a nice touch that is needed. Wonder if there is SeaDeck under that seat for walking on?
  • Still don't like the bimini top. It needs to be about 4-5in longer on the front (not sure I can really tell that from the pics/video), and needs to NOT have the turn up at the back. Those adjustment poles back there are a waste as they don't work even a little bit, and if they just fit the canvas lush they would be in good shape.
  • Does the 195S with the larger connext screen get Audio Controls? The 190's and 195's still show the remote for the stereo at the helm. I'm guessing the 195S changes that?
I see the price is up to $40k. I think an AR240 was around $45k when we bought a few years ago, I honestly can't remember, but that is what sticks in my head. Looks like the AR240's are up to $57k now, so still around that same $15k price jump from the highend 19ft to the middle-road 24ft. Not sure how I feel about that really. Seems high, but maybe it's not.

Anyone know why there are (3) water outlets on the side of this boat? Engine, Intercooler, other thing???? Maybe the bilge is on because they can't keep the new boats dry on the inside yet?

2kwik4u - the three water outlets are all engine cooling on the supercharged engines. My 2019 AR195 has three.

And just so you know - my bilge is as dry as a wheat field in August... haven't had to use my bilge once all year and my boat is moored in the water...

Glad they got yours dry. Mine leaks like a sieve.

@2kwik4u I have had my 19 in multiple rain storms, no issues with connext. The screen is really just a read out. It does not control any vital functions on the boat.

The pics and specs are contradictory - specs say 4 speakers, pics show 4 + towers.
Pics don't show walk-thru.
No that's a 6.5" speaker, part of the "4".
No Seadeck under the removable cushion, just diamond plate for anti-slip.
Yes the Connext has audio control slaved to the Fusion stereo in the stern.

At first I was bummed that right after I bought a brand new boat, the model was redesigned but now I like the 2018 better overall.

I can't picture where you're talking about. You mean under the glovebox?

I just assumed it was because the wakeboard bags tend to be put on the port side but just a guess.

I like most of the 2019 design changes but I still cannot get over the fact that a an entire section of seating was removed on a boat that already has limited seating. I still can’t really understand why this was done for a table. I think there are other places a table could have gone without removing that section, like the front bow section could be a perfect place and even seat more than two there. That is my opinion, other than that I do like most of the other changes.

Beside the passenger seat. If a passenger is sitting in the seat facing forward they can touch it with thier left hand.

Hadn't considered ballast bags, and which side most people surf on. Good point.

Thanks for the answers.

Odd place to put one of the (4) speakers.

I close my window and place our surf board in front. I have to sit on the bolster to see above the windshield but it shields everyone else behind. Hope this helps.

I see it now but don't you have the J-seating (like I do)? There is not really any space there to play with is there?

The other is right across from it at the same location, closest they could get to match I suppose. I notice they changed the layout of the comming pads so they couldn't put them behind the driver/passenger buckets. A slight compromise I suppose. If the speaker system has a wet sounds amp, it won't matter much as they'll crank out the tunes without effort.
:D
