I purchased a 2018 242x yesterday and I receive it on Friday.

My question is what items are essential to have in or on the boat in your opinion.

Thanks.

There are all the safety items required by law, life vests, fire extinguisher, visual signals, throwable floatation. Anchor, line, fenders, fender whips, dock lines, boat hook. Then add on any additional stuff you might want on board, which will be subjective. No matter what you buy beforehand, you’ll think of more once you get the boat home and start rigging it.

Of course your safety essentials, fenders (some call them bumpers), hook, anchors, Everyting TW Merema mentioned. On top of that, whatever your heart desires. Cooler, good music, family/friends. A CHECKOFF SHEET! (you can print one from online) You will need one of those, lest you forget your keys at home or forget to put the drain plug in... and, oh yeah, you're gonna need water, that's kinda essential. Enjoy, you own a friggin boat!!!!

Water, on top of everything else, I think I drink more water on the boat than I thought humanly possible!

Thanks for the replies so far.
So far I missed the boat hook, & fender whip.
Any other items?
Any specific recommended checklist?

I like a small tool kit, extra set of keys, 1 quart of oil, long pliers, drywall knife (to remove the rope you'll eventually suck up), small flashlight, lithium emergency jump start....

Beer...

I'm biased but I still tell customers that Thrust Vector Wake or Thrust Vector X is a must have. Most agree with me that this is a true statement.

Flag holder and flag for skier down (water sports)

Upgraded anchor. Box Anchor works great in Texas lakes.

Welcome and a BIG congratulations!

You NEED boards, LOTS of boards... Lol!

Don't judge me... my boat needs gas.
