Hello all,
Just picked up a 2015 AR192 and cant wait to get it on the water. I have been trying to get a boat for the last 5 yrs and finally pulled the trigger. I have a wife and 2 kids that are just as excited as I am to get out there. This is my first boat so I will be asking a ton of questions. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Rob

This was the day I picked her up. Going to get the cover off and clean her up soon after the rain stops.20160327_122512.jpg

You better put a life jacket and a harness on that purse pooch or it is gone when you hit the throddle.

Congratulations on the new boat and welcome!

Congratulations @Rob9550! It isn't too late to join in on the Cooper river run to Charleston Mothers Day weekend. https://jetboaters.net/threads/pinopolis-lock-and-cooper-river-charleston-sc-may-7th.8535/

There will be a good number of kids.

I would love to go but I have plans that weekend to go to Lake Wateree near Camden. I talked to the wife and she thinks it would be great to go through the locks and let the kids see all the wildlife on the way. Hopefully there will be another gathering soon.

Since this is your first boat take it easy the first time out, go without any expectations, Have you unloaded/loaded or docked a boat before? it's usually not easy the first time and if all your passengers are looking at you waiting for the fun to start it can make for a stressful time, not to mention how you'll be feeling if you scratch that nice new boat on the pier or get sideways loading it on the trailer, Save teaching the kids a new word for a different time and remember never go faster than you want to hit something!

@Scottintexas You made me remember last year when we got our boat and all of a sudden I realized that I didnt know how to launch, dock, or retrieve my boat! I spent so much time at the launch dock docking, leaving, docking, leaving, that all the people nearby must've been really confused. BUT.... I did get better in a short amount of time! Practice @Rob9550 and dont worry whose watching!:winkingthumbsup"

I have a little bit of experience from our family boat when I was a child and teenager but that was 20 years ago. I bought the TVs from @njmr2fan to help with the low speed maneuverability. I would love to have someone with experience around to give me tips and teach me how to launch, dock and retrieve the boat without damaging it.

If you ever make it over to Lake Murray look me up, I'd be more than happy to give you some pointers.

In the mean time here is a good video on the handling of these boats,

I plan to take the boat out this week. I will be going to Lake Wateree and using the Shaw AFB Rec Area to practice all aspects. I don't think there will be many people there and the water should be calm.

Sweet Boat! Really like the color...

Thanks! I wanted a 2016 but got such a great deal on this one I couldn't pass it up. Wife likes it since it matches the Suburban.

Great looking boat...you all will definitely enjoy it.

You are going to be shocked how quickly you will be up to speed.

Congrats on the boat and especially as a first time boat owner, you have come to the right place. By the way, nice looking setup with the color-matched Suburban.
